Training & Learning for Care Ltd (TLC) was founded in January 1997 to meet the requirements of the moving and handling regulations. Initially targeting the healthcare settings, more recently we have diversified into industry at large.

In 1997, TLC became the first company to offer an accredited course using the Royal College of Nursing™’s continuing education points system. Then in 2000, we also became the first to offer a certificate level course in moving and handling people instruction, which was aimed specifically at the medical professions through OCR (Oxford and Cambridge assessment boards). Further recognition of our expertise in this field came when we became the first to offer a level four diploma in this subject matter.

HOISTS, SLINGS AND OTHER LIFTING EQUIPMENT
We have a range of lifting hoists for sale including the Locomotor Escort and Multi-lift. Our range of slings are tested in accordance with the proposed CEN standard and BS5827. They are suitable for use with any hoist with a standard spreader bar fixing. TLC offer quality slings at an affordable price.

FIRST ANNUAL TLC CONFERENCE FOR MOVING AND HANDLING INSTRUCTORS
For the past 10 years TLC have been training individuals who aspire to be moving and handling instructors. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that TLC are pleased to announce the first annual TLC conference. These conferences are aimed squarely at individuals who are, or wish to be, moving and handling instructors. All are welcome whether you trained as an instructor with TLC, Edge Services, ROSPA, Centaur or any other organisation. Each year the conference will be focused around a given theme. As this is the first of these conferences the theme chosen is ‘developing the instructor’.

Topics cover a variety of issues ranging from working with classroom difficulties to linking theory with practice. A range of exhibitors will be there demonstrating their latest product range in relation to moving and handling.
