Nations HealthCareer School – MBA International Hospital and Healthcare Management Option
Nations HealthCareer, Bad Homburg and Hennigsdorf, Germany is a non-profit joint academic / industry initiative, dedicated to fostering and promoting education, training and research in the field of international healthcare and hospital management.

The objective is to bridge the gap between teaching, science and practice and aims to develop, together with its partners, high-level postgraduate programmes for management talents worldwide in healthcare management. We view hospitals as quality-oriented and results-driven commercial enterprises, operating in a fiercely competitive global environment.

MBA PROGRAMME IN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT
An MBA helps to develop your personal career chances in a changing and expanding health sector. Our part-time, modular structured MBA-International Hospital and Healthcare Management programme attracts doctors, scientists, engineers and managers in full time employment in all sectors of the international healthcare industry. You can combine study and work, and benefit from a strong and interesting worldwide competence network.

The course is unique in its trans-national structure. It includes eight nine-day attendance modules, and is taught over 18 months. Modules take place in Europe (Germany, UK, Austria), the Middle East (UAE), and Asia (Singapore and Beijing or Tokyo), including an optional extension to the USA.

Through case studies, the participants gain a systematic understanding of international modern hospital management practices. Site visits to benchmarking hospitals, and meetings with experts and leaders from international hospital groups offer a deep insight into the major healthcare systems and hospital groups worldwide.The MBA is a German state-recognised university degree, internationally accredited by the FIBAA.

The next MBA course 2007 will start on 2 November 2007; application deadline is the 15 September 2007.

ACADEMIC PARTNERS
The Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (formerly named HfB), Germany – a private top-ranked university – promotes and runs the English-language MBA International Hospital and Healthcare Management Option in cooperation with Nations HealthCareer School. HfB cooperates with 30 universities and business schools worldwide.

HfB is the centre of excellence for education and research in finance and management. It runs internationally recognised degree programmes, postgraduate studies and open courses for the executive education.

INTERTWINING OF BUSINESS ACUMEN AND BASIC THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL SKILLS
The curriculum concentrates on general management, tailored specifically to entrepreneurial hospital management, with a strong practical and interdisciplinary focus. It aims primarily to enhance the participants’ ability to identify business opportunities, make firm, clear cut decisions, plan and control business functions, as well as motivate and develop people and organizations. Drawing on case studies from the healthcare sector and other industries, the programme aims to develop graduates’ analytical and critical faculties far beyond the scope customarily found in this sector at national level.

INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT
Frankfurt School of Finance and Management includes the Institute for International Healthcare Management, established on an equitable basis between Nations HealthCareer School and Frankfurt School with the aim of optimising the MBA programme and promoting international research and teaching. The Fresenius Chair of International Health Management (Holder and MBA programme director, Prof. Sibbel) was endowed by the Fresenius University Foundation and Nations HealthCareer School. This chair is the first of its kind and has a clear international focus.The Institute is a centre of excellence in the field of entrepreneurial management of health facilities and hospital worldwide. It offers a unique transnational approach to research, teaching and practice.
