HISTORY
Operon S.A. is a Spanish company active since 1973, focusing its activity on research, development, manufacturing and sales of in vitro diagnostic products ( IVD ). The Company’s target was to satisfy the needs of the Spanish market. In 1982 Operon started its international sales operation.

COMPANY STRATEGY
All the immunological IVD products offered by Operon have been developed and are produced in its own facilities. The products are sold in many countries around the world with own brand name, on an OEM basis or in bulk.

HUMAN RESOURCES
Operon employs 40 people, 14 of them in R&D.

PHYSICAL RESOURCES
2000 square meters (own) laboratories and manufacturing facilities located close to Zaragoza (Spain).

TECHNOLOGIES
Operon has large experience in the following technologies:

- direct latex agglutination reagents.

- immunocromatographic assays (one-step tests).

- development and production of monoclonal antibodies.

- production of recombinant proteins.

Its principal products are IVD rapid tests for Clinical, Veterinary and Food Diagnostics based on the above mentioned technologies.

QUALITY STANDARDS
Our quality systems meet the most important standards focusing our efforts to manufacture our products with the highest quality and safety.

The Quality Management System of OPERON S.A. has been approved, since July 1998, by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance to the following Standards : ISO 9001:2000 and UNE EN ISO 9001:2000. The system is applicable to the Development and Production of “in vitro” diagnostic products.

OPERON S.A. has also been certificate in UNE-EN-ISO 13485:2001 corresponding to the internationally known GMP.

Moreover, we comply with the requirements of the European “in vitro” Diagnostic Directive 98/79/EC or its Spanish transposition Real Decreto 1662/2000, which allows the CE labelling of our products.

AGREEMENTS

Forschung und Entwicklung

Die Entwicklung komplexer Geräte verlangt die frühest mögliche Einbindung von Anwendern und der hauseigenen Fertigung. Neben der traditionellen Feinmechanik und Feinoptik spielen Elektronik und Software eine immer bedeutendere Rolle bei Weiter- und Neuentwicklungen von ophthalmologischen Instrumenten.

Vertrieb und Service international

Auf vielen nationalen und internationalen Messen ist die Firma OCULUS präsent und bietet ihren in- und ausländischen Kunden die Möglichkeit zur Information im Beratungsgespräch. Im Inland ist OCULUS durch kompetent geschulte, eigene Außendienstmitarbeiter vertreten. Betriebswirtschaftlich qualifizierte Kaufleute unterstützen die Außendiensttätigkeit und stehen unseren Kunden auch telefonisch zur Beratung zur Verfügung.
Ca. 40% unseres Umsatzes gehen in den Export. Eine eigene Tochterfirma in Woodinville/USA betreut den Kundenkreis in Nordamerika und die OCULUS-Österreich-Tochter ist zuständig für die osteuropäischen Staaten. In über 50 Ländern der Erde werden OCULUS-Produkte durch qualifizierte Fachhändler vor Ort angeboten, verkauft und im Service betreut.

Schulung und Ausbildung

Damit unsere Kunden fachkompetent beraten werden, schulen wir unsere Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter regelmäßig. Besonders stolz ist die Firma OCULUS, daß sie seit 1947 insgesamt 262 junge Menschen ausgebildet hat. Nach Berufsabschluß werden die Auszubildenden zu über 90% übernommen und finden ihren Einsatz je nach Könnnen und Neigung in der Entwicklung, Fertigung, Buchhaltung oder im Vertrieb und im Service. So setzt sich die Firma OCULUS aus einem hochqualifizierten Team mit vielen Jahren Erfahrung zusammen.

Für unsere Anwender bieten wir Seminare und Fortbildungsveranstaltungen an, wobei die Möglichkeit besteht, OCULUS-Geräte zu testen und komplexe Fragen von Fachreferenten klären zu lassen.

Kundenservice

Sehr viel Erfahrung benötigen unsere Techniker in der Service-Abteilung, denn die Produktpalette einschließlich der Nidek-Geräte ist breit gefächert. Meistens sind es langjährige Mitarbeiter, die mit unserer schnellen OCULUS-Flotte den Kunden direkt bei Installation, Grundeinweisung vor Ort, Wartung und Reparatur bedienen. Mit dem Service schließt sich auch der imaginäre OCULUS-Kreis von der Idee über das fertige Produkt zur Kundenbetreuung.
