VEPRO – Medical Information Systems and Electronic Medical Records
Since 1981, VEPRO has been one of the leading IT solution providers in the medical field. VEPRO stands for intelligent and reliable IT solutions. VEPRO’s core competency is medical information technology. VEPRO has specialized in the requirements of hospitals and practices by offering complete IT solutions for all medical fields such as radiology and cardiology.

VEPRO can guarantee the development, distribution, installation, training, and support of individual, safe and cost-effective Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Picture, Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).

COST-EFFECTIVE EMRS AND PACS
Customized and highly functional IT solutions must remain affordable. At VEPRO, it is not only the inexpensive IT products that ensure that but also the qualified distribution counselors, who prepare optimal but economical concepts for your individual problem. Normally the periods of amortization are between 12 months and 18 months.

The savings of personnel and material costs are projected with a VEPRO IT solution. Working without films or paper minimizes the material costs, and faster administration of operational procedures reduces personnel costs.

EMR AND PACS – EFFICIENT OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
The project specialists of VEPRO analyze your present situation, take future expectations and desires, make weak-point analysis and submit a concept about the optimal reorganization of operational procedures in a heterogeneous IT infrastructure.

The result is a networked and accelerated workflow with lower personnel placement and material usage. The shortest and most cost-effective method for the new IT solution will be planned especially for your needs.

INDEPENDENT MEDICAL IT SOLUTIONS
Patient information, like images, films or findings, is available at all digital workstations in all departments within a few seconds of generation. The possibility of smooth, external digital communication ensures faster medical care.

Regardless of which medical fields or sub-systems the patient data comes from or which data format your information is in (i.e. document, graphic, image or tone – analogue or digital), all patient information can be passed directly to a VEPRO PACS. It can then be archived and made available everywhere.

Therefore, you become independent from all sub-systems. If a laboratory information system from manufacturer A or a surgery documentation system from manufacturer B is applied, we guarantee the integration of each sub-system, which is executable on an operating system based on Windows.

This is accomplished by a unique DICOM archive interface, which is installable for all third-party systems. Thereby it is guaranteed that all patient data is saved centrally in a standardized, internationally recognized DICOM format.

ABOUT VEPRO
Headquartered in Pfungstadt close to Frankfurt, Germany, VEPRO has established itself as an expert manufacturer of PACS and EMR solutions since its foundation in 1981. In addition to this capability, VEPRO has proven itself a highly competent participant in the medical IT solutions field.

The company has successfully established a global reputation by positioning itself as an IT specialist, systems manufacturer, installation advisor, systems architect, and an in-depth service provider. With over 100 employees directly selling VEPRO products and solutions in key global markets such as the USA, Brazil, France, Italy, Benelux, Turkey, India, Singapore and China, and an extended presence through global distributors, VEPRO has developed an immense client base built on over 3,800 global installations.

TESS – Artificial Windows and Murals for Walls or Skylight Panel Views
TESS (Therapeutic Environmental SolutionS) provides the highest quality backlit mural views to nature for all windowless areas of the healthcare facility. Artificial windows and framed murals for the wall or skylight panel views for the ceiling create a patient-focused, healing environment. These TESS products greatly reduce patient stress and apprehension and establish a healthier more productive workplace, while lifting the spirits of patient and staff alike.

Nature therapy in the form of views to nature has been well documented over the years as transforming the clinical setting into an environment fostering the healing process and wellness. In this highly technical era, it is important to address the full spectrum of patient needs (physical, emotional and spiritual) in conjunction with the profound medical procedures offered. With this objective, TESS has perfected the medium of photographic imagery in beautiful views to nature for the state-of-the-art healthcare facility of the 21st century.

All high focal-point windowless areas of the hospital should be targeted:

Radiology and imaging centers (MRI, CT, Nuc Medicine, Ultrasound)
Radiation and medical oncology (Treatment Rooms / Chemotherapy)
The critical care units (a backlit panel view to nature above each bed)
Labor and delivery-birthing rooms and suites
Cardio cath labs and surgical holding and prep areas
Exam rooms, consult rooms, cafeterias, lounges and chapels
Corridors, hallways, tunnels, waiting rooms and entry / foyers
VIRTUAL WINDOWS, WALL MURALS AND SKYLIGHT CEILING PANEL SYSTEMS
TESS virtual windows, wall murals and the skylight ceiling panel systems are custom-made and specifically tailored to meet the environmental, spatial and design requirements of each individual room. The standard TESS wall units are recessed or wall mounted, while the skylight ceiling panels are cut to fit snuggly within the standard lighting fixture or ceiling grid structure.

MRI ART AND LIGHT PANEL SYSTEM FOR MRI WALLS AND CEILINGS
TESS has a revolutionary patented MRI art and light panel system for the MRI walls and ceilings that is unique to the industry. This complete MRI art therapy system does not breach the shield, is certified for all magnet frequencies and can be installed while the magnet is in operation. The system comes complete with an art panel (view to nature) and a lumi-light panel (light System), plastic spacers, plastic connectors, copper-wire shielded cable, aluminum voltage inverter box and simple installation drawings. There is nothing on the world healthcare market that compares to the TESS MRI art and light panel system.

LARGE FORMAT DURATRANSPARENCY PHOTOGRAPHIC REPRODUCTIONS
For all TESS products the actual art panels or views to nature are large format duratransparency photographic reproductions fabricated at our TESS color correct commercial lab. This TESS product fabrication lab utilizes the latest in digital photo processing equipment and the highest quality materials. The result is an impeccable product with precise resolution, density and color saturation for each chosen nature scene.

Telemed – Portable PC-Based Ultrasound Scanners, Imaging Tools for 3D Sonography, Panoramic Imaging, Speckle Reduction
Telemed develop and manufacture a new generation of ultrasound imaging systems and notebook based scanners. Amongst its range of products are the Echo Blaster 64 and Echo Blaster 128 family of PC-based ultrasound scanners, advanced imaging tools for virtual 3D-sonography (3Dview), panoramic imaging (PanoView) and real-time speckle reduction (ClearView) and devices for OEM.

LOGICSCAN 128: PORTABLE COLOR DOPPLER
The LogicScan 128 ultrasound imaging system is a color doppler device. Its key features include digital doppler multi-beam processing that considerably increases frame rate during color and power doppler imaging and a novel hybrid signal processing module that allows to noticeably improve sensitivity. Additionally, Pulsed Wave (PW) spectral doppler will be available as a software upgrade.

LogicScan 128 is equipped with a wide variety of probes to cover a broad range of application areas. It can be used as an entry-mid-level color system for applications in obstetrics and gynecology, general and musculoskeletal imaging, vascular access and others.

PC BASED ULTRASOUND SCANNERS
Due to the growing performance of the notebooks, PCs can process ultrasound data in real-time. The use of a PC brings down costs as there is no need to use expensive specialized machinery.

The flexibility of these “true PC-based” scanners provides an easy integration of advanced technologies such as 3D imaging, wide field-of-view imaging and real-time speckle reduction.

ECHO BLASTER: ADVANCED IMAGE PROCESSING
Echo Blaster is a line of ultrasound scanners with open architecture for advanced image processing.

Adopting a variety of state-of-art techniques such as advanced focusing, wide bandwidth probe technology, the Echo Blaster 64 and Echo Blaster 128 are equipped with imaging modes: B, M (B+B, B+M), real time zoom, and high line density imaging.

A special color-processing module can be used to increase differentiation of low contrast tissues. The systems support a very high capacity cineloop capability to record a maximum 2,048-frame (approx. two-minute) cine clip directly onto the hard drive or CD-ROM.

With the newest broadband probes an optimum frequency can be selected from up to six frequencies (for Echo Blaster 128) to ensure the best image for each examination situation.

3DVIEW SOFTWARE
3DView is a software add-on for viewing coronal, sagital and lateral scans as well as three-dimensional realistic imaging of anatomic structures. The diagnosis is more immediate and safe because of the complete acquisition and visualization of the region under examination.

The 3DView software provides additional information to study. It is possible to review the data, performing a “virtual sonography” after the patient is gone. It is also invaluable for follow-up examinations since it allows an operator to reproduce a given slice from the older scan co-planar to the image of interest on the patient under current examination.

PANOVIEW SOFTWARE
PanoView is a software add-on. It links several ultrasound frames to a large panorama view and produces images with a large anatomic field-of-view. Speed and ease of usage makes it a useful tool in the documentation and monitoring of large superficial lesions, for example hematomas following arterial puncture.

CLEARVIEW: REAL-TIME SPECKLE REDUCTION TOOL FOR IMAGE ENHANCEMENT
ClearView is a real-time speckle reduction tool for image enhancement. The software is used for add-on and reduction of the speckle artifact. A high-speed algorithm analyses ultrasound images such as low level features like edges and lines.

Its higher-level image representations show texture, regions, object boundaries and then averages. ClearView emphasizes the image based on the results of this comparison. The connection between structures in a living body is improved and at the same time speckle noise is eliminated.

NOTEBOOK-BASED ULTRASOUND SCANNERS: TELEMEDICINE SOLUTIONS
The architecture of Echo Blaster platforms provides solutions for image transfer through e-mail, real-time streaming and remote control of the scanning parameters of the ultrasound system.

Various solutions can be easily implemented in hospitals and clinics for image transfer between departments in different geographic areas.

Siemens Display Technologies – Display Solutions for Highest Diagnostic Precision
In medical diagnostics, users expect ultimate quality and availability for their displays. Expectations which our display family meets in every way: the complete product line covers a range up to five megapixels and guarantees a fast and precise diagnosis – with unmatched long service life.

Siemens medical dispalys really stand out in applications necessitating high-contrast display and high reliability: in medical diagnostics and in applications such as x-ray, angiography, digital radiography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).

SUPERIOR IMAGE QUALITY
Maximum sharpness based on blue-tinted backlight. Under ambient lighting, such in reading rooms, the human eye is particularly sensitive to the blue colour temperature range. Matching this colour with our displays allows for optimal detail and contrast resolution, and minimizes eye strain.

Ideal for displaying bright and high-contrast images. Our innovative displays show their strength even under bright ambient lighting conditions, eg. in operating and emergency rooms. Brightness and high contrast are stabilized during the entire service life of the equipment starting in our factory.

Very wide viewing angle. With conventional LCDs, users need to constantly search for the optimum viewing angle to make a reliable diagnosis. And it’s even harder if two people want to formulate a diagnosis at the same time. Using Dual Domain IPS (In Plane Switching) technology guarantees consistent grey scale display and luminance over a very wide viewing angle – for all our LCD versions.

Quick start feature. Conventional CCFL backlights need a warm-up time of up to five minutes – valuable time that could be used for making a diagnosis. The Planon® backlight, specially developed by Siemens, reaches 100% luminance in just a few milliseconds.

CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE

Fully automated stability. With the help of the sensor systems that serve as the backbone of Siemens totally automated stability solution, Siemens displays do not require calibration. The ISS (Integrated Stability System) continuously monitors the display’s luminance and automatically adjusts it for DICOM compliance while the ICS (Integrated Consistency System) provides additional assurance that the display is operating within the specified parameters.

Consistent display of shades of grey based on factory-calibrated gamma correction
Hands-off conformity check via calibration software
Powerful, universally-compatible graphics cards ensure flicker-free images
SMfit ACT® provides a complete service tool, which can be used on any monitor, and has the ability to set-up, manage and validate workstation monitor performance and consistency.

Be confident about your image stability over time: SMfit ACT® is automatically watching and taking care of your display installations (even remotely)! Save on service costs!

LOWEST COST OF OWNERSHIP

Unmatched service life
Completely noiseless, integrated power supply unit
Lower operating costs
LCD with Planon® backlight. Reach the best image quality and diagnostic reliability all the time, along with a true energy saving mode option. Besides saving energy, the energy saving mode also reduces the number of operating hours, further extending the service life of the flat panel display. Furthermore, this mercury-free lamp lasts more than twice as long as conventional backlights.

For CRT monitors, with P45 phosphor coating. The P45 phosphor ages much slower than all other phosphor types and, in combination with the dispenser cathodes, ensures a long service life for the picture tube.

SIEMENS DISPLAY TECHNOLOGIES – YOUR PARTNER
Siemens products always deliver an optimum bottom line: innovative technology, ultimate quality and extremely long service life mean high diagnostic reliability for users – with reduced operating costs. Our worldwide presence means that we can react extremely rapidly to customer requests.

Rely on an all-round solution, like you’ve come to expect from a manufacturer that has been one of the leading suppliers of monitors and displays for medical applications for 30 years!

Shimadzu – Diagnostic System Development
As a pioneer in medical technology since 1896 when recording the first X-ray images in Japan, Shimadzu develops, manufactures and distributes a broad range of diagnostic systems in all areas of clinical application – computer tomography, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), cardiovascular systems, digital radiography and fluoroscopy systems, and ultrasound and general radiography equipment.

ANGIOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY
Using novel technologies and equipment, the company paved the way for new applications and continues to develop new technologies even today. An example is, the real-time smooth mask (RSM) digital subtraction angiography, a diagnostic tool for physicians.

The patented RSM-DSA technology enables subtraction angiography, where the mask and filler images are acquired almost simultaneously and subtracted in real-time. Finding the right diagnosis becomes much easier and more precise, whilst reducing the enormous technical effort, time frame and cost required for modern angiography applications.

MOBILE X-RAY FOR EMERGENCY ROOMS
The mobile surgical C-arm opescope pleno meets today’s demands of operating and emergency rooms. The opescope pleno combines easy and accurate positioning at any angle with high-accuracy digital image technology.

Most modern functions support the operator, e.g. memory switches for camera rotation angle, or RSM-DSA (real-time smoothed mask DSA), just to mention a few. Thanks to its clean design the opescope pleno can be easily maintained under sterile conditions.

DIGITALIZED X-RAY DATA
Shimadzu’s latest milestone in X-ray technology is a flat-panel detector FPD named ‘Safire’, the world’s first large format FPD, which converts X-rays directly into electronic signals, using amorphous selenium.

The direct-conversion technology offers distinct advantages in image quality and dose efficiency compared with indirect-conversion flat panels. The current image-amplifier technology, inferior in image quality and dose efficiency, is soon expected to become obsolete.

Introducing the ‘Safire’ direct-conversion FPD to the medical sector enables digitizing of all X-ray related diagnostic imaging. It allows faster diagnosis, improved diagnostic capabilities and accelerated remote medical diagnostics.

The 23cm × 23cm (9-in²) or 43cm × 43cm (17-inch-square) ‘Safire’ FPD can be used for both still images and fluoroscopy. Shimadzu’s ‘Safire’ FPD’s are integrated in cardio systems as well as fluoroscopic equipment and Bucky rooms.

AWARD WINNING X-RAY TECHNOLOGY
In 2004, Shimadzu Europe was awarded the Growth Strategy Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan for its outstanding achievement of growth in the mobile X-ray field.

In this segment, Shimadzu marketed the MobileArt series, a family of three systems offering efficiency user-and-patient friendliness together with high-quality images.

The MobileDaRt system is equipped with a 14in × 17in (35cm × 43cm) flat panel detector (FPD).

ULTRASOUND SYSTEMS
The fully digital platform of ultrasound systems, the SDU-1200 PRO and SDU-2200 PRO colour Doppler series, feature highly advanced operating modes and performance characteristics. Both instruments are suitable for hospital use as well as private medical practices for radiology, internal medicine, urology, paediatrics, angiology, gynaecology and obstetrics.

The SDU-2200 PRO also serves as an all-round system complying with the basic requirements of cardiologic diagnosis.

CUSTOMER BENEFITS

During research and development Shimadzu is led by a simple yet central mission: to offer the best possible diagnostics with the highest patient and user friendliness.

Shimadzu’s medical technology is applied on all continents. The feedback from Shimadzu’s customers is integrated directly in the development of new systems. In this way each of Shimadzu’s customers can benefit from globally acquired knowledge.

Shimadzu’s technology is further complemented by the proximity to its customers: Shimadzu has an extensive sales and service network all over Europe.
