QUANTA SYSTEM S.p.A. was founded in 1985 to perform advanced research in electro-optics, including solid-state lasers and industrial lasers. Now into its fourth lustrum, Quanta System can rightly claim to be one of the most advanced high-tech companies producing lasers both for research, industrial and medical applications. Just as the ancient Greek philosophers-mathematicians founded their ideas on the figure of the triangle, so since 1990 Progetti has identified itself with the perfect geometrical figure.
Rigour in design, manufacturing reliability and competitiveness are the ingredients of the alchemy created in the company’s labs to produce medical equipment for diagnosis and first aid.
The innovation, the continuing willingness to test and experiment, the enthusiasm for challenge and for things “well done” have led Progetti and its products to the top of the market in more than 60 countries.
Several years ago, on 1990, PROGETTI established in order to introduce new technological solutions in the Cardiovascular and Hyperthension market as well as in the Emergency, Gynecological and Veterinary markets. At the beginning, the products were imported from the main foreign manufacturers. Later, on 1995, PROGETTI acquired the ELPRO manufacturing company and started to design and manufacture products by itself.
The new ECG line became the core business of the Company. In 2005 PROGETTI developed the first Italian biphasic Defibrillator, the pride to compete with the most famous foreign competitors : a big success immediately. Today PROGETTI offers a range of medical machines including the new AED’s and high quality Patient Monitors as well the new Stress Test System. All the products are manufactured in accordance with the most important standards related to the product’s performance, safety, and manufacturing quality by CE mark.

PINEL wishes to expand its Distributor network world wide. Our experience over the last five years shows that when the Pinel unique characteristics are introduced into a new market,
especially one populated with similar products, the uptake of the Pinel is very rapid and market dominance soon follows.

REASONS:

- MATERIAL – items are made of Para Aramide (Kevlar is the Dupont brand of Para Aramide)layered by other specialized textiles that are both anti-microbial and frie retardent,

- RESULTS – this makes product much stronger, yet lighter than leather, releases moisture very quickly (half hour drying) and is very soft to touch,

- COST REDUCTION – uses concepts of universal sizing and multipurpose-use for common items, resulting in very significant cost reduction in hospital inventory (cut inventory by more than half).For example, use of Waist belt in both bed and
chair.

- COMMON PROBLEMS RESOLVED – Pinel’s new designs have also solved serious problems of violent and rapid restraining (5 seconds to four point restraint), patient comfort and prevention of asphyxiation when waist belt travels over thorax where it can cause asphyxiations. Note: lateral straps alone will NOT prevent asphyxiations.

- PROTECTED MAGNETIC KEY – the patented Pinel common magnetic system is unique in that all magnetic flux is maintained within the guarded portion of the opening Key. Stray unprotected magnetism could negatively affect important patient items such as Pace Makers or hospital equipment sensitive to strong fields such as Holter Monitors.

For the past 10 years TLC have been training individuals who aspire to be moving and handling instructors. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that TLC are pleased to announce the first annual TLC conference. These conferences are aimed squarely at individuals who are, or wish to be, moving and handling instructors. All are welcome whether you trained as an instructor with TLC, Edge Services, ROSPA, Centaur or any other organisation. Each year the conference will be focused around a given theme. As this is the first of these conferences the theme chosen is ‘developing the instructor’.
